I am actually really excited about the spring/summer 2017 fashion trends. It helps to get me through the winter months, grey, cold, wet and rather dreary all round. To help me along I have even gone as far as dedicating a whole pin interest board called ‘Summer Outfits’. This helps transport my mind to sunny days, feeling the sun on my skin and imagining myself looking bloody fabulous!
Where am I going with this, well has anyone spotted the new ‘Underwear as Outerwear’ trend, being suggested for this spring/summer- seriously, come on! Why would you do that? I like to consider myself a creative person, that loves to have fun with fashion but really, isn’t this idea/trend a bit daft?
If I were to put my bra on over my shirt, I think my husband, friends, family and work colleagues might ask if I was feeling OK?
If someone walked past me in the street with a bralet over their top, you would wonder wouldn’t you, if they were a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Plus, why the hell would I put my underwear on and stop, look in the mirror and think – yep I am done, ready to hit the pavement, meet a friend and pop to the pub for pint. Ridiculous! However saying that I might just give it a try, just for shits and giggles. So if you see me out and about this summer brandishing a bra under a tux suit jacket/or over a t-shirt, feel free to ask me if I am feeling OK!
This is why I love fashion, it can often make me laugh and cry, it challenges my thinking and makes me question the norm and encourages me to be pushed out of my comfort zones.
Actually on second thoughts, I think I’ll give this one a miss if that’s OK? It’s hardly ever that hot in the UK anyway (even in spring/summer, sad but true).
No one likes to see a fashion victim. It’s not a good look.
